Tools for Water Utility Professionals
The new clamping socket was created in response to challenges faced while supplying water to residents and commercial businesses. Our team developed pound-on plug extractor sockets to address damaged service box plugs. While these pound-on sockets were effective, we recognized the need for a better solution.
As a result, we designed the clamping socket, which is now available for 5-point pentagon brass plugs and 2" operating nuts for water main valves.
2" Socket-Tite
Made from professional grade alloy steel and adjustable from 2 1/8" to 1 13/16", allowing it to grip onto inoperable rounded off stripped water main valve operating nuts. The socket-tite is rated for use at 1500 foot pounds of torque.
5-Point Pentagon
Socket Tite is the perfect tool for removing stubborn curb box or meter box brass plugs. Its design allows you to put tremendous clamping force on the damaged brass plug and removing it with extended length breaker bars or our New 3in1 Ratcheting Wrench.
